Importing the Toyota C-HR from China to the UAE: FOB Pricing & Jebel Ali Shipping Guide

Dubai's Jebel Ali port is one of the busiest vehicle gateways in the Middle East. Buyers land C-HRs there either to register them in the UAE or to hold them in the free zone and re-export them. This guide explains how a quotation is built and what to plan for.

How is a FOB price for a C-HR built?

A FOB (Free On Board) price covers the vehicle and everything needed to get it on board a ship in China. We do not publish prices because they depend on the unit, but every FOB quotation is built from the same parts:

• Vehicle cost — model year, trim, colour, mileage and condition of the specific unit.
• Export preparation — de-registration of used vehicles, export registration and pre-shipment checks.
• Inland transport to the port of loading.
• Export customs clearance and port handling in China.

Under FOB, your forwarder books the ocean freight. Under CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight) we add freight and marine insurance to Jebel Ali and give you one price. Both are Incoterms® 2020 rules; risk passes to you once the vehicles are on board in China under both.

Ro-Ro or container to Jebel Ali?

Shipping fee and delivery date are negotiated per order. Jebel Ali, operated by DP World, has frequent services from Chinese ports.

Local registration or re-export?

This is the first decision to make, because it changes what you need to check:

• UAE registration. Vehicles registered in the UAE must meet UAE conformity requirements set by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology. The China-market C-HR is not a GCC-specification vehicle, so confirm conformity before ordering.
• Re-export. Vehicles held for re-export follow free-zone customs procedures with Dubai Customs. The rules of the final destination still apply — age, steering and emissions.

Which documents will I receive?
