How Many Toyota C-HRs Fit in a 40ft High Cube Container?
Container loading for the Toyota C-HR: dimensions, how many fit in a 40ft high cube with racking (typically 3–4), Ro-Ro vs container, and mixed-model loads.
Short answer: typically three to four C-HRs fit in a 40ft high-cube (40HQ) container when the cars are loaded on racking. The exact number depends on the racking system and the loading plan, which we confirm with each quotation.
How big is a Toyota C-HR?
| Dimension | China-market C-HR |
|---|---|
| Length | 4,390 mm (2021–2023) · 4,405 mm (2018–2020) |
| Width | 1,795 mm (excluding mirrors) |
| Height | 1,565 mm |
| Wheelbase | 2,640 mm |
| Curb weight | 1,490–1,575 kg |
Why not more than four?
A 40HQ container is roughly 12 metres long inside, so two C-HRs fit nose to tail on the floor with room to spare. The container's internal height — about 2.7 metres — is less than two C-HRs stacked flat (3.13 metres), so the upper cars are loaded on angled racks. That is how a 40HQ reaches three or four units. Adding a fifth is not practical for a car of this size.

Container or Ro-Ro?
- Container suits small orders, mixed models, inland destinations by rail or truck, and buyers who want the cars enclosed.
- Ro-Ro suits larger batches to ports with regular car-carrier services; vehicles are driven on and off.
Can I mix models in one container?
Yes. Mixed-model orders are accepted, and we optimise the container loading to save on shipping costs. A common first order is two hybrids plus two petrol C-HRs in one 40HQ.
How are the cars protected?
Cars are secured with wheel straps and lashing points on the racking, and loading is photographed so you can see how each unit was secured. See more loading photos on our about page.
